No CV
There is no CV on this site.
When I first had the idea of creating this page, I briefly thought about that, but dismissed the idea quickly. Of course I had some privacy concerns, but that’s not the point. The point is: I felt that posting a CV to your blog is cheap. I am not looking for a job. A job might be looking for me, yes, but for a job like that I don’t need a CV -instead, I need a page like this.
On the other hand, I like CVs in general. Whenever I solve a particularly though problem, I think “man, I’m so gonna put that into my CV!” When I spend some of my time on learning something instead of working, I think about my CV. I think part of living a life of every professional is about creating a CV – a record of successes, trials and errors. You know you are a pro when at some point you don’t think about what else to put into your resume, but what to leave out so that it won’t be too long.
I advice everyone to always have an up-to-date CV. There are two cases when you don’t need that. The first one is when you are so famous that your name sounds better than anything you could possibly put down into your CV. Once someone asked Hugh Hefner what his best pick up line was. He said it was “Hi, I’m Hugh Hefner”.
I guess you get the point
The other one would be when you are dead. Actually if you are both famous and dead, you don’t need a CV, either – then you get an article in Wikipedia, and just refer everyone to the URL
BTW. Did you every think that Wikipedia is like Asimov’s Encyclopedia Galactica? Well, just just check, where that link points to
